BC Forest Industry – Economic Impact Study

A joint report on the economic impact of the industry to British Columbia was prepared by MNP and commissioned in 2014 by COFI, Coast Forest Products Association, Interior Lumber Manufacturers’ Association and the BC Lumber Trade Council.

COFI Information Services (CIS) provides, on a subscription basis, reports on Canadian Softwood Lumber Production, Shipments and Exports; Wood Chip Data for British Columbia; BC Exports of Forest Products to Japan and USA; Canadian Exports of Forest Products to USA; Canadian Exports of Forest Products to China; Canadian Exports of Forest Products to South Korea; Canadian Exports of Forest Products to Taiwan; Canadian Exports of Forest Products to Hong Kong. Reports are based on Statistics Canada data.

To order reports, identify reports required with an “x” and identify month or quarter if a single copy is ordered, then complete the contact information at the bottom of the form.

Annual subscription for monthly reports starts with the January report. For single copy, please indicate which month or quarter you wish to purchase with the corresponding number, e.g., January =1, First Quarter = 1.

Canadian Softwood Lumber Exports
1. This comprehensive report, consisting of 13 tables, summarizes export volumes by month and year to date, by species, to various destinations from B.C., Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. A summary table includes data for the previous year.
2. Same as above, except summarizes export values.
Canadian Softwood Plywood Exports
This concise two-page report includes export volumes of D. Fir and CSP, by month and year to date, to various destinations from B.C. and other Canada. For comparison, previous year's totals are also included. $100.00$30.00
Wood Chips and Related Data for British Columbia
This popular report details volumes of wood chips production, shipments and inventory data for sawmills and planers. It also includes pulp export prices and wood chip export volumes to USA, Japan and Other. Some year to date and prior year's figures are also included. $65.00$25.00
Canadian Softwood Lumber Production
This useful report summarizes lumber production volumes by province, on a year to date basis, for the current and prior year. B.C. production is broken down into the four regions. $65.00$25.00
