As an industry with operations in more than 60 interior communities keeping in touch with community leaders is a priority for COFI members – we depend on them and they depend on us.  COFI has an extensive Community Relations program that ensures that community leaders understand the forest industry, its importance to their community and the issues facing the industry.  At the same time, COFI members learn about community priorities and concerns.

COFI stays in touch through with regional municipal governments, chambers of commerce, service clubs, business and other community leaders by hosting Community dinners, held annually throughout the interior.  In addition speakers tours, informal meetings and the Annual Convention, which alternates between Kelowna and Prince George, help to keep this critical relationship healthy and dynamic.
