  • Participation in the development and maintenance of the National Lumber Grades Authority standard grading Rules for Canadian Lumber.
  • Participation in the development and maintenance of special product standards for glued and machine stress rated lumber.
  • Lumber quality control and mill inspections.
  • Lumber grade certification and reinspection.
  • Mill grader certification, education and training.
  • Heat Treatment Certification to meet foreign import requirements.
Membership is open to any primary or secondary softwood lumber manufacturer or remanufacturer operating in the interior of British Columbia.

Member representatives serve on COFI’s Quality Control Steering Committee to develop policy and guide the actions of the organization's staff.

Lumber buyers may look to COFI’s registered grade mark for the assurance lumber will consistently meet grade specifications and performance standards in both domestic and international markets.
