Achieve a public policy framework in the areas of environment and occupational health and safety that is effective and contributes to forest sector competitiveness.

Major Functions and Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize issues of provincial significance.
  • Manage issues by keeping members informed of their status and direction and developing a proactive agenda for advocacy.
  • Respond to government legislative and policy initiatives by determining the implications for the members, developing a COFI position and working to ensure that position is understood and accepted.
  • Gather, produce and disseminate information to engage members, government, the public and stakeholders in a constructive dialogue.
  • Work with like-minded associations to monitor and influence provincial, national and international legislation, regulations and conventions.
