Susan Yurkovich, President & CEO, BC Council of Forest Industries issued the following statement today on the China Forestry Trade Mission:

“Earlier today, the Province of British Columbia advised that Doug Donaldson, Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development, will be rescheduling the government meetings planned for the Chinese component of the Asia forestry trade mission. We understand and respect the decision of the government delegation, and look forward to participating in the rescheduled mission with government. Industry delegates will continue with the business program in Beijing, meeting with customers and stakeholders. With almost one quarter of B.C.’s forest products exported to China, this market is very important for the forest sector and these meetings represent a valuable opportunity to continue to diversify B.C.’s markets.”
